As CEO of Novation Analytics, Mike oversees the strategic direction of the company as it rapidly gains momentum toward becoming a premier provider of software and data solutions.
Until 2015 (when he sold his majority stake), Shields served as CEO, Founder, and majority owner of Control-Tec, LLC, a powertrain control systems technology provider.
Between 2006 and 2014, Shields was instrumental, as both majority owner and senior executive, in the leadership of Arrow Racing Engines, LLC, Arrow Performance Products, LLC, Power-Tec, LLC, Saleen, LLC and Cyltec, LLC. Before that, Shields served as President of Flat Rock Metal, Inc. and Bar Processing, LLC.
Shields spent the first five years of his legal career as an attorney with Dickinson Wright. Subsequently, he was a founder and partner in the corporate law firm Strobl and Manoogian, P.C.
He is active in the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), serving as the Greater Detroit Chapter Chair, and also the YPO Gold Organization, for which he serves as Chapter Chair. Shields is also on the Board of Directors of Spotted Media, Inc. and Seraph Biosciences, LLC. He has also served on the boards of trustees and advisory boards of numerous organizations and charities.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Shields holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science/Economics from the University of Michigan, a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Michigan.
Before founding Novation Analytics, Pannone was Head of Fuel Economy, Performance, and Powertrain Synthesis at Chrysler Group, LLC. Included in his responsibilities were the strategic planning, fuel economy and performance simulation, sub-system specification, and development activities necessary to achieve the competitive and regulatory fuel economy and CO2 requirements for Chrysler Group products.
Prior to this, Pannone spent nearly 25 years in engine and powertrain systems development. At Chrysler, he led the powertrain systems development of many engines, including the HEMI® V8. Before joining Chrysler, he was with General Motors Powertrain for 8 years at the Warren, MI Technical Center.
Pannone holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and a master’s of Applied Statistics from Oakland University. He has authored and co-authored technical papers on alternative fuels, engine technology and control, exhaust emission after-treatment, and fuel efficiency.
Before co-founding Novation Analytics, Heidi had accrued nearly 20 years of automotive experience, most recently, as the Manager of Fuel Economy Development and Simulation at Chrysler Group, LLC. In this position, she was responsible for specifying and orchestrating the development of vehicle level fuel economy and performance for all Chrysler (global) and FIAT (NAFTA) vehicles.
Prior to this, Heidi spent over 15 years in powertrain cooling and HVA/C. At Chrysler, she was responsible for small car aero-thermal vehicle development. Before joining Chrysler, Heidi was the powertrain cooling and HVA/C manager at Delphi Thermal Systems for various General Motors vehicle programs. Heidi began her career at Saturn Corporation as a powertrain cooling development and design release engineer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University.
